Hui23 Recap: What Went Down at This Year’s Hui?

Communications Officer • September 6, 2023

Feature by CNA team,

On Friday 18th August, nearly 40 members of CNA gathered in person at our biennial Membership Hui – the first in quite some time. It was a wonderful day of connection, conversation and networking.

Our farmers market morning sessions hosted a feast of conversations. We explored Te Tiriti partnership, celebrated co-governance successes and delved into the impact of authentic storytelling. From digital strategies to funding, evolving boards, and changing communities, it’s safe to say we left well-nourished! A special thanks to the wonderful Karen Stockman for facilitating and fostering such dynamic and supportive kōrero.

The afternoon was dedicated to laughter and learning how to take care of ourselves, with special guests and speakers. The food was delightful and the company was excellent. Executive officer, Ros Rice's personal highlight was listening to the Kiwibank 2023 ‘Local Hero’ New Zealander of the Year, Dr. Allen Joan Nelson. Her stories and leadership expertise provided a fantastic way to conclude the day.

Just a friendly reminder, our Membership Hui occurs every two years, as the alternating years are reserved for our comprehensive conference. Looking forward to the upcoming year, I encourage you to allocate the necessary resources in your 2024 planning for our approaching conference. Stay tuned for more updates and keep an eye on your inboxes, It’s an event not to be missed!

A huge thank you to our wonderful guests, speakers, and event organizers for making this year’s Hui so fantastic.
